Project 10 Revealed: An Unexpected Variety Show – Perth FRINGE WORLD 2016

Life is AN UNEXPECTED VARIETY SHOW. It’s full of mind-blowing highs and soul-crushing lows and moments where you’re singing “things did not turn out the way I wanted…

So begins this award-winning one-woman cabaret which has enjoyed sold-out shows and standing ovations at Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and now returns, at the Perth FRINGE WORLD 2016.

What – An Unexpected Variety Show

AN UNEXPECTED VARIETY SHOW returns, this time at the Perth FRINGE WORLD in January 2016.

Directed by US comedy great Gary Austin, AN UNEXPECTED VARIETY SHOW sees musical comedian Jenny Wynter meld stand-up, storytelling, song, improv and character comedy into a unique show about the unexpected twists in life, from unplanned pregnancy, to finding oneself in the mountains of Canada, to having your wedding disrupted by an elderly man wearing nothing but a pair of Speedos.

AN UNEXPECTED VARIETY SHOW will be updated to bring the story a little more up to date – curtains rise and fall, and the show goes on..

Perth’s FRINGE WORLD Festival is the largest annual performance platform in Western Australia.

The 2016 FRINGE WORLD Festival will run from 22 January to 21 February in Perth, Western Australia during the city’s buzzing summer festival period. Tickets for An Unexpected Variety Show are available here.

Within the FRINGE WORLD 2016 programme from 22-26 January 2016, in the fantastic venue of The Stables, Perth Cultural Centre, Northbridge.

In order to successfully bring this show back to the stage, and make the most of the opportunity, the show will have updated:

  • outline and content;
  • songs, sketches and other content;
  • merchandise;
  • headshots, publicity and promotional pack;

This project will be reviewed in multiple dimensions following the run of performances. This includes a personal assessment of how the show went, and audience reaction to the show. This will, of course, include ticket sales.

There will also be critics’ reviews of the show; and potentially, the FRINGE WORLD award judging panel reactions.
